Exodus 6:3 I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name, LORD, I did not make myself known to them.
I was reading this verse the other day, and I was thinking about what name has God revealed Himself to us as. Has he revealed Himself as provider, healer, peace or some other name? God has several names that He reveals Himself as in the bible. And it seems like a just the right time he reveals a different aspect or character of his name.
Looking over this past summer, I was reminded that God has revealed Himself to us in several ways. His provision and blessings are always at the right time. Just some of the highlights are that God provided our daughter with a new wheelchair that makes her independent. We were able to take a nice family vacation, which we haven’t done in several years. We received a nice check in the mail that was unexpected. Our home was on the market for less that a month before we had a contract. And God has made it possible for us to build a new home, even in a recession.
The blessings of the Lord are truly wonderful. And know matter what your need is, God will reveal himself to you at just the right time and in the right way. He will make Himself known to you in a special way.
God reavealed Hisself to my mother in two ways I would like to mention. The first way was when she asked Him to help her quit smoking cigarettes. God just simply took all desire for them away in the next few days and she never picked another one up. The second way was after several financial challenges through their married life, after my father passed away my mother was not financially secure. An aunt that didn't even like her passed away and she was an aire and inherited enough to graciously live off the interest and had a nest egg if there was a big need. I truly give God the glory.
