My house

2 Sam. 23:5  "Is not my house right with God? Has he not made with me an everlasting covenant, arranged and secured in every part? Will he not bring to fruition my salvation and grant me my every desire?

We were talking with someone the other day and their daughter was getting ready to move across the country, but they made a statement that I thought was terrific.  They said their daughter & husband were both born again and that was the most important thing for them.  I look back at my own house and rejoice that my family is born again as well.  My in-laws are born again, my mother is born again and my father is with Jesus and my brother and his family pastor a church.

I am truly blessed and can say my house is right with God.  The blessing and favor of God is truly amazing and it keeps getting better.

What does it cost?

2Sam.24:24   But the king replied to Araunah, "No, I insist on paying you for it.   I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing."

The Lord Jesus gave His life for us so we could have life everlasting.  But what do we give up for the Lord?  When we offer up our lives to the Lord it is going to cost us something.  For some, living for Jesus cost them their lives.  Others, it may cost them their jobs, careers, reputations or perhaps be ostracized from their families or cost them their finances.

Thank God eternal life is a free gift, but it cost God the very best He had, which was Jesus.  And we ought to be able to give our lives in whatever capacity we have to in order to serve our King.

20/20

2 Sam.22:31  "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.

Reading this verse once again reminded me of something I always say, “Hindsight is 20/20".   I think about that because when I look back at the events in my life I always see that God’s way was perfect.  He was perfect in His guidance, timing, contacts and connections and events that come in my life.  I have learned that if you will stay true to God and trust Him.  His way is perfect whether it is past, present or future and His word is absolutely flawless.

He never changes!

Malachi 3:6 “ For I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.

Heb.13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Here we are in the middle of summer and it is so hot outside.  Everybody I talk to is looking forward to cooler weather, which made me think about all the changes going on in our lives.  There have been so many changes going on and they have all been good, but sometimes overwhelming.  Maybe you are like us.  There have been different seasons in your life and maybe you find your self in a season you are not used to or have never been in before.  I just want to encourage you to enjoy the season you are in.  Seasons come and go in our lives, families, jobs and ministries and nothing ever stays the same except God.

So whatever season you are in enjoy that season and also the presence of God in that season.
Because God never changes we can have a constant source for the season we are in.
