Coming Out Of The Closet

I read an article in the Tulsa World on May 21st about how atheists are coming out of the closet.  Apparently the National Campaign by the Freedom From Religion Foundation has started placing their message on billboards around the greater Tulsa area with the proclaimation that they are atheists, they don’t need God, and they are proud of it.  They show photos and names of local families professing that there is no God.

Here is what the bible says about that- Psalm 14:1 “The fool has said in his heart, There is no God.”

Dear Freedom From Religion Foundation,

I want to come out of the closet as well.  I am free from religion!  In fact,I do not need religion at all.  I have a relationship with God who created the universe. And that relationship comes through Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  I have been given the Spirit and the Spirit testifies with my spirit that I belong to God, He is my Father and I am his child.

I don’t have to worry about keeping a bunch of rules and regulations.  I just love my Father and He loves me, which frees me from religion.  I am free from religion because where the Spirit of the Lord is there is FREEDOM.   Consider this my billboard!  I am free from religion through my relationship with Jesus Christ!

Out Of The Closet, Living A Life of Freedom Through Christ,
Ronnie

So who's with me?  Come on out of the closet and be free from religion and embrace a relationship with the one true God that only comes through Jesus Christ.

Rapture 2011

Well the Apocalypse has come and gone.  According to Harold Camping of Family Radio International the rapture was to take place on May 21st, 2011 and the world would be destroyed on Oct 21st, 2011. Apparently Harold and his crazy followers were wrong!  Maybe they should of read  Matt 24:36 or
Mark 13:32.   It would of saved them a lot of embarrassment and all the money they spent on a billboard campaign on just about every continent.

But money doesn’t seem to be a problem with Harold’s organization.  In 2009 they reported $18.3 million in donations and assets of more than $104 million.

Embarrassment is not new to Harold Camping or his followers . In 1994 he was wrong, but blamed that mistake on a mathematical error. This kind of nonsense is dangerous and makes a mockery of true Christianity.

This much we do know.  Harold Camping and his group were wrong about the time, but are right I that the Lord is coming back.  1Thess 4:13-18 Paul said in verse 13 “brothers we do not be want you to be ignorant” Jesus is coming back, the rapture will take place. And verse 18 says “encourage each other with these words”

So let me encourage you.  The rapture didn’t take place on May 21st.  Jesus will come on His timetable, not Harold Camping's predictions or mathematical equations.

Amen, Come Lord Jesus.

Revival

Do you want revival? Can real revival really happen with time constraints? Do you want the gifts of the Holy Spirit to operate in your church? Do we really believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit? What if the Holy Spirit showed up in your service and disrupted everything you had planned? How much room or time do we give the Holy Spirit to actually work in our services?

I ask these questions simply because I would like to see revival and the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in action. I got to thinking about this because recently I was in a church service that had everything scheduled out and the worship service was cut short because other events that morning took more time than anticipated.

I understand schedules and being conscious of the time, but are we limiting the Holy Spirit by saying you can only show up in this time frame? Also are we shortchanging the people of God by only allowing a certain time frame for the Holy Spirit to work?

What would happen if Acts 2:1-4 happened in one of our church services? I am not even talking about speaking in tongues. I am talking about a rushing mighty wind blowing into our services and disrupting our schedules with a mighty move of God. Or are we beyond that and ok with the norm?

Or how about the Acts 4:31 experience?  Or was that for them and we are to trendy and stylish for that type of experience now? It would certainly disrupt the service and our lives. But wouldn’t it be worth it?

What if Rev 8:1 happened in our church services? Could you imagine silence at the next Sunday morning service for 30 minutes? I don’t know if we would know what to do with ourselves.

Remember, this is Ronnie’s Ramblings and I’m just saying what would happen if the gifts of the Holy Spirit like those in 1Cor.12:4-11 really happened in our churches?  Do we have time for that, or are we to busy with our own schedules and agendas?  Think on that.  I would appreciate your comments and discussions!
